DESCRIPTION:
Ansonia Clock Co., "ANTIQUE - HANGING" in oak with brass trimmings, 2-weight chain drive, gong striking movement, and brass dial with individual porcelain cartouche numerals; hinged doors on sides for access to hang pendulum and set beat, c.1809
CONDITION:
the pendulum is an embossed brass replacement [should be cast with a child riding a lion], and the case has been refinished. This clocks has hung in a moist climate and the weights are very discolored and with corrosion that will need polishing. The little brass weight stops that should be on the chains are missing. Ht 46.5"
